High-efficiency and Low-cost Equipment of Biomass Pellet Molding

Abstract It is one of the sub-grant projects in the second round of National Biomass competitive grant activities. Through the research on the physical and chemical properties of biomass materials, and the optimal design of the molding key components, such as the roller, ring mold, feeding devices, etc., the PM485-Ⅱ high-efficiency, low-cost, solid biomass pellet molding machines were developed. The service life of key components is increased. And the problems of low productivity, high energy consumption per unit, poor adaptability of raw materials and so on were solved. The project is underway currently. By December 2010, the model products had been popularized and applied in Heilongjiang, Hebei and other places. Five production line of in biomass pellet fuel had been established in Guyuan of Hebei, Bin County of Heilongjiang and other places with the annual production capacity of 100 thousand tons and the profit of 5 million yuan RMB.

Optimization of Low Cost Molding Technology and Whole Set Equipment for Pellet Fuel

Abstract It is one of the sub-grant projects in the first round of National Biomass competitive grant activities. The project is mainly serviced for biomass power generation, which makes the storage, transportation and use of biomass more convenient, and makes the large-scale use of biomass possible. Based on the experience in the previous research, processing, production and engineering actual operation, the technological improvement was carried out, the molding process and equipment were further researched, and the design of environment and molding hole was improved to reduce the power consumption and costs; The adaptability of raw materials moisture content and the stability of equipment operation were improved; The intelligent and integrated equipment in complete sets were researched and developed, which fully meets the application requirements of large-scale industrialization. At the same time, the company has completed the corporate standard compilation and record of Cold Molding Equipment in a Complete Set for Biomass Pellet Fuel.

Completed Equipment Development of Power Generation by Circulating Fluid Bed Straw Gasification

Abstract It is one of the sub-grant projects in the second round of state-level biomass competitive activities. The project aims to design a large and complete biomass circulating fluidized bed pyrolysis process system, including the biomass pyrolysis device, gas purification system, waste heat recovery system and flue gas purification system to carry out the demonstration construction, through improving the existing technologies. The pyrolysis process of fluidized bed is working at high temperature, uniformly and stably. While the straw pyrolysis gas is used for generating power, it cracks tar, which improves the straw utilization efficiency and gas quality. The technical support unit is the Department of Thermal Engineering of Tsinghua University, and the equipment manufacturing unit is the Tangshan Xinde Boiler Group Co., Ltd. The project is currently underway.

Rural Biomass Energy 2020 in the People’s Republic of China

Abstract This publication explores the potential of biomass energy to close the urban-rural energy gap, raise farmer incomes, and address some of the environmental concerns in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Its findings are useful for other developing and medium-income countries currently in the process of drawing up their respective energy-for-all strategies. The report examines the promises and limitations of leading biomass energy technologies and resources for various distribution scales, including but not limited to household biogas digesters. The information is based on lessons learned and experiences from the ADB-financed Efficient Utilization of Agricultural Wastes Project in the PRC, as well as findings and conclusions from a technical assistance grant to assist the government draft a national strategy for developing rural biomass energy.
